Book prize winner announced by The Catholic Weekly

What clever readers! Lots of people correctly answered the quiz question, hoping to win a personally dedicated copy of A Distant Prospect. Thank you to everyone who took the time to enter!

The question after the book review in The Catholic Weekly of 13 July was this:
“What talking movie caused a sensation at Christmas in Sydney in 1928?”

The winner, Anne Rosewarne of Canberra, correctly answered “The Jazz Singer”, starring Al Jolson.

Dedication for Catholic Weekly prize winner

Anne requested a dedication “to our Catholic Irish ancestors”, which Annette expressed in these words:

“In memory of the Faith of our Fathers – our Catholic Irish ancestors who, in many ways, often hidden, have given us so much.”
